The CM5418 is very narrow (5.47 in per CASABREWS) and simple. It has a 51 mm portafilter, two dual-wall baskets, a pressure gauge and a manual steam wand. Its "20-bar" figure is a pump rating, not the pressure at the coffee. The maker also claims PID temperature control, which we have not seen independently measured. It suits milk-drink makers who want a small footprint and forgiving pressurized baskets.

What "20 bar" means
Pump ratings describe the pump's maximum. The pressure the coffee sees depends on the basket, the grind and the machine's valves. Dual-wall baskets create their own restriction at the exit, so gauge readings with them do not describe a traditional espresso extraction. We don't treat a bigger bar number as better espresso.
